In India, over 100,000 Newspapers are published in different languages. By Numbers of printed copies, India is the second-largest newspaper market in the world. Newspapers report a total circulation of over 240 million copies. 

Hindi Language newspapers are by far the largest, but newspapers are published in each of the 22 languages of India and many other languages spoken across the country.

The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) has published its audited figures for the period of January to December 2023, covering its member publications. According to the report, the Hindi newspaper Dainik Bhaskar has emerged as the most widely circulated daily across all languages in India, with a circulation of 3,126,656 copies. In second place is another Hindi daily, Dainik Jagran, with a circulation of 2,583,704 copies. The Malayalam daily Malayala Manorama secured the third spot, circulating 1,816,081 copies each day.

The Times of India is the only English-language newspaper to feature in the top 10 list across all languages, with 1,814,517 daily copies. Ranking fifth is the Hindi daily Amar Ujala, which records 1,728,254 copies per day, followed by Hindustan (Hindi) with 1,574,781 copies and Rajasthan Patrika (Hindi) at 1,372,730 copies. The Telugu-language daily Eenadu holds the eighth position with a circulation of 1,316,479 copies, while Daily Thanthi (Tamil) ranks ninth with 1,158,832 copies. Finally, Sakshi, a Telugu daily, completes the top 10 with a circulation of 1,031,956 copies.
